Windows 7 (formerly known as Blackcomb and Vienna) is the name for the new version of the Microsoft’s Windows operating system, Vista’s successor. Windows 7 is out in the market at 22nd October 2009. Windows 7 is supplied in 32-bit and 64-bit version. Server version name Windows Server 2008 R2 is also in developments final process .

History of Windows 7
in 2000 Microsoft thought about its new operating system and started working on the ideas and began planning a successor of Windows XP and specially server version of Windows Server 2003. They decided to issue a new version codenamed Blackcomb and scheduled its release in 2005.

One of the major features planned for Blackcomb was WinFS – advanced file system – an advanced shape of NTFS or you may say a NTFS successor is WinFS.

Blackcomb was delayed due to issue of Longhorn, Windows vista. In the Longhorn WinFS included. Development of Longhorn was canceled in September 2004. Longhorn released in late 2006 under the name Windows Vista. Windows Vista did not include many features planned for Longhorn because they were about to include in the new version. in 2006 Blackcomb was renamed Vienna, and later in Windows 7

Milestone 1
The first known version of Windows 7 is known as “Milestone 1 (M1). Marked with a number 6.1.6519.1 in 32-bit also in a 64-bit version. Although Microsoft has not confirmed this version, with the help of internet you can easily find reviews and pictures of Windows 7.

On the date of 20th April 2008 new versions of M1 Appeared with its pictures and videos with label 6.1.6574.1. This version included changes to the Windows Explorer and the new Windows Health Center. 10th June 2008 M1 6519 version was leaked on the Internet. And quickly spread by the torrent.

D6 Conference
Interface of Windows 7 was demonstrated for the first time in the D6 conference, during which Steve Ballmer announced the release of Windows 7 at the end of 2009 in month of October. So the Version of Windows 7 was demonstrated .

First visual change to note in this new version is that the taskbar is different from Windows Vista and is divided into several parts marked in different colors.
