Taking over the world, all in a day’s work at Google. The latest creation out of the Google Labs is something called Buzz, Google Buzz. The software is basically a type of hybrid social networking that ties in information gathered from places like Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, Google Reader etc. as well as providing a way for you to communicate directly from your inbox.

Google Buzz also allows you to update your information while on the go with a Buzz app. This allows you not only to update with video, pictures etc. but view the Buzzes of people who are near you. Pretty awesome right?

I can’t blame Google for trying to jump aboard the social network train…this seems to be sort of awkward, though. I have two gmail accounts (spam and professional, basically) and checked them both for the Buzz yesterday. I only have one contact thus far who is also Buzzing…so I’m not holding my breath that this will be of much impact.

I think Twitter is the real deal. I do not log into Facebook nearly as much as I did in the pre-Twitter days.
