If you pay attention to any tech news, then you will notice that there has been a long list of devices that people thought were going to take over the world and yet they only made a small splash. The whole tech bubble crash in the late 90′s was synonymous with this kind of hype. But luckily for Apple, they have a better track record than most when it comes to releasing revolutionary devices. Especially in recent years. They are hoping that this tradition holds up with their latest device, the IPad. The company is betting that the IPad will not only sell well, but also change the face of computing as we know it. That is a lot of pressure riding on one product. Can it do it? That remains to be seen. But we will discuss the chances that the IPad has of making these kind of predictions a reality.

The most obvious thing that we can see, that will help change the perception of how people look at and use computers, is how the device is actually built. This is not the first tablet computer that has been released. There have been others over the years, but they have not really made the splash that the IPad seems to be making, A good reason for this, is that people like what they see so far. Yes, the device looks like a giant IPhone, but honestly, there are many people that always wished that the IPhone could be made larger. It is hard to do certain task on an IPhone for long amounts of time. But when they moved back to a laptop, they were disappointed by the ho hum normal laptop user experience. Apple has decided to mix both worlds into one. Now you can do computing tasks for long periods of time and not worry about your hand cramping or the eye strain that you would get using a normal IPhone.

Another reason why this ipad device could be the wave of the future, is the access to the Itunes store that it provides. On a normal computer, you have to search for the software that you need by looking all over the internet. And once you think that you might have found it, you would have to take a chance on a third party developer. A lot of the software out there has not been properly vetted and can cause weird effects on your computer. With the IPad, as with the IPhone before it, all of the applications are reviewed before they are allowed to be in the iphone apps store. If they pass the muster, then you know that it will work properly on your IPad. Also, applications that were available for the IPhone, will also be available for the IPad. The applications are interchangeable between the two devices. This means that you will be able to use an app on the IPhone, get tired of the smaller screen, and then use it on the IPad without missing a beat.

It looks like there is a good chance that the IPAd will become the way that people will be computing in the future. It might not be the same exact device, but the devices that will be used, will be heavily influenced by the IPad.
