The HTC Wildfire is a new handset that is based on the Android operating system. The phone is designed for those who don’t have the cash to be splashing out on more expensive phones such as the iPhone but is, in theory, a low cost substitute.

Like most phones that are being developed these days, the HTC Wildfire is a touch screen phone but it also has four buttons below the screen. The buttons are touch sensitive and are used for home, menu, back and search. While the touch screen sensitivity is not as precise and as sharp as phones such as the iPhone, it is still extremely good and it is a pleasure to use. This is probably due to the Android operating system being installed on the phone as well as the phone using HTC’s Sense UI, which is extremely good.

One great feature of the phone is that when you start it up for the first time, it will run you through a setup process. This process is used to configure the phone for your needs and you will configure things like the Wi0Fi settings and mail settings before you even get to use the phone. This is great as it means you won’t have to mess around trying to set things up when you are using the phone as it will all be done right at the beginning.

Overall, this phone is certainly a good alternative to the big players such as the iPhone and Blackberry phones and you get a lot for the price tag.
