Disable “Restart now” after automatic updates

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feeds. Thanks for reading... :)

One of the great features of windows is Automatic updates and one of the annoying habit of automatic updates is the Dialog box, which pops up now and then, which asks us to restart windows.

How do you disable this little irritating fellow? Follow the following simple steps

  1. Click Start -> Run and type services.msc and press Enter
  2. Select Automatic updates and stop the service

Note: You can also start windows services by navigating to start -> Control Panel -> Administrative tools

Now work without any disturbance. Since this service is enabled to start automatically, it will restart the next time when you start windows.
