I fell in love with Firefox from the very first day I started using it. But there is one thing which annoys me even today. Its nothing but the download manager which remains open even after the download is complete.

Here is a neat simple configuration for firefox which will close the download manager window once the download is complete.

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Enter about:config in the address bar and press enter
  3. In the filter input box enter browser.download.manager.closeWhenDone
  4. Your screen should look like the below screenshot
  5. Double click the Entry and the Value will change to True.

Firefox

Next time the download manager will close automatically when the download complete :-)
